This is my 1st post ever. While I took TOO long to start this blog, hopefully this will be a place where creative thinkers can come to find information on the how I expose myself to new ways of thinking and creating. It is my purpose to share with my readers how new approaches, experimentation, and measuring behaviors can create personal momentum so that, no matter what goals they have, behaving in specific ways will help bring these goals into clearer focus. These ways of behaving and acting work for me, and I hope they will work for you as well.
Toward Any Goal - 10 steps
1. Be OBSESSIVE. You are your thoughts. What you spend time thinking about, you naturally will be drawn toward. There is no middle ground on thinking. Your mind is not a vacuum. You are either working toward your goal or not. Whether it is painting, computer programming, keeping a garden, your natural desire to be great at your chosen profession or hobby is the single greatest determinant of your success.
2. Make up your mind for yourself.
3. Seek out like minded individuals.
4. Do something EVERYDAY in pursuit of your goal.
I won't bother you with the idea of the 1,000 mile journey beginning with a single step, but if the goal is important to you, you will find the time to work on the goal everyday. Not missing a day is a positive way to build momentum, keep positive score, and maintain confidence in your abilities.
5. Keep Score. I am a huge proponent of not avoiding failure. Failure, properly analyzed, is your best friend. If you increase exposure to failure, your success rate will soon follow. This applies to ANY activity, from answering mock test questions for students to shooting clay pigeons at the local gun range.
6. Think Big
7. See hidden Opportunities
8. Make the next day schedule the night before.
9. Do something brave EVERY DAY.
10.
